Warning! Children left unattended will be sold.... by katr14 Warning! Children left unattended will be sold.... by katr14
Sorry the full title canīt be written above since it is too big for DA. The title is:  "Warning! Children left unattended will be sold to the circus"

Hope you like it. It has taken me any hours and weeks to create this draw :)

I used to hate how dA wouldn't let you leaved titles long enough to describe your work with the title. I remember when they changed things though, allowing us to use longer titles, and I loved it that they did that because I almost never had a problem with title length again. But your desired title... is still too long! :XD:

Did something bad happen that inspired you to make this? OR something funny? Or something both grim AND funny?

Well I have more than one that is too long :D

Well the text that you are able to watch in this drawing. I saw that on a boat a long time ago, and thought it could be funny to illustrate

Heh, wonderfully creepy idea. I love the details of the cage and the individual children. And that clown is just straight up nightmare-inducing D:.

Wow! i saw the WIP of this one and loved it more and more as i saw all the bits getting added to it, this piece is absolutely incredible! I really love the whole concept, it's got a sense of dark humor that i personally love to see. And you went about it really creatively too, i like how you put all kinds of patterns all over the bars, i've noticed you do patterns in other pieces of art of yours aswell and it's a wonderful technique you seem to have mastered, aswell as being able to achiece very realistic drawings of people and children, their anatomy is flawless. The cages and the children are really the absolutely best visual part of this image. If there's only one little thing i'm unsure of in this, it's the contrast the messily drawn marker parts have against the meticulous detail oriented rest, although i know its contrast was a conscious choice, in my opinion it would have been more visually appealing to me if the lines of the sign were done as meticulously as the rest, though i do think it appropriate for the clown. although, the more i look at your picture the more i do begin to see the appeal it has overall, it seems like it was done in a subtle conceptual way.
And the contrast of having only parts of the image coloured, that i do really like, it's quite eye-catching contrasted with the detail in all the rest, makes you really see the whole picture.
The only other tiny little thing i have to add, is maybe you could up the contrast of the image before uploading it a little bit, at least just to whiten the whites in the picture, it would show it all off even better i think
Anyhow, you make absolutely stunning work, keep it up

First of all thank you for this really great comment!

-And I will definately consider not making so much contrast in the future. Marker wise of course. I can tell what you think :)

About the contrast. This is just pictures taken with  my phone and uploaded to instagram, and I donīt think I will be editing them since it is a lot of work. But I will definately try to edith better in the final edition of the piece of art I upload to DA. Do you think I could do it better with this one? katr14.deviantart.com/art/Warn…

The sign and clown makes this funny, but the sad children in cages makes me sad.  What mixed feelings!

I like the different style you drew the bars and key holes.

I like how there's two main spots of colors. The only criticism I have is that the clown woman looks a little unfinished, because everything is colored but her arms. Also, the girl in the cage right behind the woman looks like a giant because her head is bigger than the clown's, even though the clown is closer. The girl on the bottom right also looks a bit big compared to the child next to her. That said, I really like the details going on, with the locks and chains and different facial expressions. The 'sold' sign adds a lot more to this as well. This is a really interesting drawing; good work!

-And you are right. They look bigger than the clown. I was doing a sketch earlier where I had made the kids in a correct size compared to the clown. But then the kids completely dissapeared, and I decided I would rather make it "over the top" than completely realistic to acchieve the feeling I went for. But i will take the advice with me! Thank you for your coomment!

I love the amazing detail you put into all the different cages. The detail on the faces of great too!
I would only propose to add some darkness to the cage backgrounds between the bars, to give it a bit more depth and to let the character (clown) stand out a bit more.

Lov... smartly^^ It has this charme, old books for children had, especially when describing the adults as cruel creatures. Sometimes they were just as sureal...
I qutie like the constrast between the nearly overdetailed backround, and the simple foreground.
But, because of it beeing so dark and detailed, it's a bit stressful for the eye to look upon it.
